  • Let the top 2-3 cm dry before watering again.

  • Reduce watering in winter when growth slows.

Soil & Fertilizer

Temperature & Humidity

  • Prefers 18-30°C with moderate humidity.

  • Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

Repotting

  • Repot every 2-3 years or when rootbound.

  • Use a slightly larger pot with good drainage.

  1. It’s a very beautiful plant! Ive been growing my own Bird of Paradise for a year now but it hasn't shown any signs of flowering yet, just lots of new leaves. Do you think its normal for it early stages? Or could it be a light/fertiliser issue? Also how do you tell when its about to produce a bloom?

    1. Hi! Thank you for your comment! Great questions! It can take up to around 3 years or more before your Bird of Paradise plant is mature enough to start producing flower buds and blooms! Patience is key - I actually just published a new post highlighting what is to be expected before all the magic happens!
